Day 1 After meeting in Anchorage, we begin our adventure biking along turquoise-colored Eklutna Lake. Surrounded by towering mountains and glaciers, the Eklutna valley is home to Dall sheep, moose, eagles and bears.

Day 2 Our day begins with a hike on the massive Matanuska Glacier. We'll explore intriguing ice formations, crevasses, caves and surface ponds. On both sides of this river of ice lie the Chugach Mountains, rising dramatically over 4,000-feet above. In the afternoon, we grab our paddles and experience the ever-exciting Class IV Matanuska River.

Day 3 - 4 We hike and bike in the Talkeetna Mountains and Alaska Range, wild lands of jagged granite peaks, rock walls, alpine tundra, glaciers and cirque lakes. The majestic white presence of Denali dominates the skyline. For the next two evenings, we enjoy Talkeetna Lodge, a beautiful mountain lodge offering unsurpassed views of Mt. McKinley.

Day 5 This morning we'll trek above treeline for a sweeping vista of glaciers, moraines and rugged peaks in the Chulitna River basin. Later we'll depart for the Kenai Peninsula by way of the Turnagain Arm on the Seward Highway, considered to be one of the world's most spectacular drives.

Day 6 Our trail along Winner Creek Gorge winds through the northernmost patch of Pacific Coast forest, which extends south to Oregon. For a more challenging adventure, hike to Crow Pass, the highest point on the historic Iditarod Trail. This exciting trek features glaciers, waterfalls, wildflowers, historic mining ruins and an abundance of wildlife.

Day 7 After a visit to Portage Glacier, we charter a boat at Prince William Sound and enjoy a leisurely sea kayaking excursion exploring the beautiful emerald cove. We then travel by train back to Anchorage for evening flights home.
