Areas seen include the Tracy Arm-Ford's Terror Wilderness, famous for tidewater glaciers and towering walls, and Seymour Canal and Admiralty National Monument, home of the most dense population of brown bears on earth. After Day 2 the motor launch leaves. We then paddle the scenic waters of Seymour Canal or Tracy and Endicott Arm, taking time to explore coastal lands during the day. Each evening we make camp on a sandy beach or under a canopy of old growth spruce and hemlock. On day 7, after enjoying more paddling we are reunited with the motor launch and return to civilization, refreshed from this immersion into the wilderness of Alaska.

Trip #1 Summary: The first two days are spent in the deep fjords of the Tracy Arm-Fords Terror Wilderness and Stephens Passage, exploring the glaciers and marine mammals in these enchanting waters. Days 3-6 are spent paddling the emerald bays of Seymour Canal, and include a hike to Admiralty Island's Stan Price Brown Bear Sanctuary at Pack Creek, famous for its brown bear population. On day 7 we paddle to the head of Seymour Canal, use a small push-powered rail trolley to shuttle the kayaks across a narrow land bridge, then hop aboard the motor yacht for the return trip to Juneau. This trip is typically offered in May and early July.
